Based on a fencing jerkin from the Collection of the National Museum of Germany (1580-1610), as well as similar designs from France and Scotland.

The jerking is designed for fencing and has a complex layered design: leather top, dense layers of cotton or linen wool to cushion and reinforce the product and linen lining. The top is embroidered with a decorative hand-woven cord.

The tunic fastens with buttons and has seven decorative scallops on the bottom to protect the hips.
